What a stupid sport When Arvin came in for what seemed like the millionth time, Penelope just frowned at him. His wrist had been caught a bit too hard during practice, and he apparently didn't want to risk trying to fix anything himself. Or his teammates for that matter. It was mostly nothing, but on the other hand, it was something that Penny was more or less qualified to deal with. And if all else failed, they had the mediwitch on hand to step in.

"One of these days, you're going to get hurt so badly that even magic can't fix you. And will you still want to play quodpot then?" She asked him, a sort of mothering, yet almost patronizing frown on her face.

"We both know I was born for this," he joked back with a grin. But Penelope just shook her head at him and went to find the right pain potion out of the stores.

Really? Being an O'Brien, Jazzy was used to doing things that most people wouldn't consider. So being outside watching a quodpot practice between friends that she talked too on and off while she attempted to sketch the scene, yeah that was not expected when she should be doing her homework. However, she didn't care. Yet Arvin once again got hurt, and despite thinking it was ridiculous she wanted to check on him since she had been there.

Walking into the room just as a streak of brown hair disappeared into the stores area, she walked over to Arvin and shook her head, her sketch pad in her hand. "You know.. I think you hold on a bit too long, you keep getting hit. You need a new strategy out there" Teasing him quietly she gave him a smile, instinctively looking for her cousin that was the mediwitch there. She was sure that she would hear if she didn't at least say hello to Maureen, but she didn't mind, she was the best. "My new little cousin, Killian, he mentioned a game called hot potato, helps release things faster. You should try"

What a stupid sport For a moment, she hesitated. She stared at the labels, one at a time, back and forth. Until she had convinced herself that it was the right one. Some would call it a weird micro OCD or something similar. Penelope called it fear. She wasn't sure what she would do in a time-sensitive case, but perhaps she would have someone else to grab things before that ever happened. But she finally selected the most modest pain potion - one that had very little by the way of possible risks, but which also would not do very much. That in mind, he likely would give up on it, as he always did.

She turned away from the cabinets, only to find Arvin laughing openly with another student. As though his hand didn't hurt a bit. It was almost unfair how carefree he looked. But she walked around to the cot he was sitting on, holding the potion out to him. Oh. Penny knew that girl. Same house, a year or two younger. One of the many O'Briens running around the school. Her gaze flicked to Janette's hand and the sketch book she held, but then she looked back up at Arvin with a firm smile. "Same as usual."

"Just so you know," Arvin replied, the 'you' intended for both of them, "I'm not clumsy. My team's just damn good."

Really? "Oh sure you're not clumsy" Teasing him, Jazzy shook her head before she glanced up at the student that walked up, and she felt her heart speed up for some reason before she quickly looked away confused. Okay that was new. She hadn't felt that before. "If your uh.. team was that good, you probably wouldn't be in here" Her jab definitely had lost some of its head because she was thrown by how she reacted seeing the older girl, who was.. wow just gorgeous. Wait.. did she think that? What the heck was going on!?

Jazzy really felt like she should probably leave before she made a fool of herself, but she had stopped in to check on a friend, and see her cousin. Right? That was possible. Maybe she was sick, yeeeah that was it! She was just coming down with something. It was the winter season after all. Feeling a bit more confident in her thoughts she smiled brushing her hair back out of her eyes. "I still think you need to learn to let go faster"

What a stupid sport Penelope smirked at Jazzy's sass, even more amused when Arvin appeared to take her seriously, keeping his mouth shut as he seemed to go into his head to consider it. But as he tilted his head and leaned back against the pillows at the head of his hospital bed, that left Penny with nothing to do but look over at Jazzy again. She was really curious about that drawing pad, but couldn't bring herself to ask in front of Arvin. Maybe not at all, actually, because for some reason the idea of talking to Jazzy alone also made her stomach feel weird.

She turned her head, pretending to look over her notes. But beneath them was her textbook stack and the corner of a flyer was sticking out. Oh, right. The ball was coming up. Her gaze not-quite-casually shifted back over to Jazzy. Penny felt quite certain that the younger girl would look seriously stunning if she dressed up, but that... was not something she could just casually point out. She needed an excuse. Rather than trying to be smooth or anything, she just pulled the flyer out and held it up to the two of them. "Are either of you even going to this?" She asked with a lifted eyebrow. "Last year's was pretty great."

Really? Oh maaaan now it was silent. Darn you Arvin for not having a witty come back, now she was just standing there awkwardly while the beautiful girl looked over her papers, and Arvin was in some insane contemplative state. How is it all her siblings and family managed to get some super suave control over words, and she was the one that was sitting there with a dumb look on her face and no clue what to say. Her fingers tightened on her drawing pad and she was about to excuse herself when Penny spoke up.

The ball! Crap... Trying to think she looked over at Penny and bit her lip. She was suddenly imagining going to the ball with the brunette, and just dancing and having fun. That was a crazy thought, but well she couldn't stop them. "I was thinking about going.. but going alone is just a depressing thought" Nodding she carefully set her drawing pad down on the edge of the bed before an idea came to her and she glanced at them, she was pretty sure Arvin would have asked someone already, so maybe she could sneak her way into going with Penny! "Hey, do you guys have anyone to go with? We could all go together"

What a stupid sport Dances like this weren't really fair for people like Arvin, who knew full well who he would want to see there, but who also knew that others simply wouldn't approve. Penny, to her mild surprise, was thinking the same thing, though not about Vinayak, of course. "I don't have plans," Arvin replied first, shrugging with a good-natured smile as he turned to Penny.

A smile of her own unfolded as it registered that, even though she didn't fully understand what she wanted to achieve with this whole going as a group to the dance thing. But still, she nodded and managed to speak with rather firm enthusiasm instead of nerves. "That sounds like a lot of fun! I'd say we should be cheesy and try to match, but that might be taking things a bit too far."

Really? "I don't think it would be cheesy, and we could have a lot of fun. Who cares if three friends go together right? Best group at the dance in my opinion" Jazzy had to get her confidence from her family. Everyone there was smooth in one way or another with people. Yet Jazzy hadn't found her skill. Still it had to come, and she would be confident until it didn't work anymore.

Still she found herself worrying that she may actually end up a third wheel to these two. What if they were together? Oh this may have been a bad idea, and it had been so brilliant a second ago. Still she didn't allow that concern to show on her face as she smiled looking at them. "Wanderlust is coming up luckily so we can get clothes for it and everything"

What a stupid sport "We would definitely take the best pictures," Penny agreed with a bit of sass behind her tone -- enough to make Arvin laugh and nod in agreement. But Jazzy had a good point. Except Arvin, of course, had something else on his mind.

"I usually practice on weekends," he pointed out, tilting his head. Shopping, it seemed, was not his thing.

Penelope just laughed, shaking her head at him and crossing her arms. "Considering you can't practice without hurting yourself, maybe taking a weekend off would be good for you. You're coming with us." And, not interested in getting into trouble, he held up his hands, offering the girls a chagrined smile. "It's settled, then. Next Wanderlust weekend."
